Dr. Francine York, APRN DNP FNP-BC, is originally from Vernon, Connecticut and became interested in the nursing field after she took a course to become an Emergency Medical Technician over 20 years ago. Graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2007 from American International College in Springfield Massachusetts, Francine started her nursing journey in several different departments at once. She has been a Nurse in Labor and Delivery, Post-Partum, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Special Care Nursery as well as pediatric and adult Emergency Departments. She started graduate school at Quinnipiac University in the fall of 2012 and graduated with her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2015 with honors and induction into the national honor society of Sigma Theta Tau.
Francine is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and has been seeing pediatric patients as well as adults as a family nurse practitioner for the past 4 years. In addition to these accomplishments she also serves as the Director of the Nursery at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs, Connecticut.
Dr. York and her husband, Jim, reside in Ellington with their four children Jeffery, Molly, James and Mary as well as Kona their 4 year-old Bull Mastiff/Great Dane mix. Dr. York loves taking vacations to Disney or just wherever it is warm. However, there is a place in her heart for Stowe, Vermont where she has a second home and the family enjoys skiing.
